Carolina España Reina holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Málaga. She currently serves as the Minister of Economy, Finance, and European Funds for the Regional Government of Andalusia, a position she has held since July 2022.
She has been a national deputy for the province of Málaga in the Spanish Congress of Deputies since 2011 (X Legislature). Among her various responsibilities, she served as the spokesperson for the Toledo Pact during the X and XI legislatures and was later appointed spokesperson for Labor, Migrations, and Social Security during the XII Legislature. In her most recent tenure in the Congress of Deputies, she was the spokesperson for the Finance Committee.
During her career as a national deputy, Carolina España has also been a member of the Budget Committee, the spokesperson for the Finance and Public Administration Committee, and an alternate member of the Permanent Deputation.
At the local level, she was a councilor for the Málaga City Council from 1999 (with Celia Villalobos as the lead candidate for the Popular Party) until 2012, accompanying Francisco de la Torre in subsequent municipal elections. During this period, she held the position of Deputy Mayor for the Environment; later, she was responsible for Economy, Finance, and Personnel; and in her last municipal legislature, she was in charge of Economy, Finance, and Tourism, in addition to being the spokesperson for the Government team and First Deputy Mayor.
Furthermore, Carolina España currently holds the presidencies of Málaga Tech Park and Andalucía TRADE.
