Javier González de Lara y Sarria
President of the Confederation of Businessmen of Andalusia
Javier González de Lara y Sarria was born in Málaga in 1963. He has a Law Degree and a Master's Degree in Mediation and Extrajudicial Conflict Resolution, a practicing lawyer, and a businessman in the financial, tourism and cultural sectors. He is President of the Confederation of Businessmen of Andalusia (CEA) since January 2014, the most representative business organization with implementation in all territories and productive sectors of Andalusia. It is made up of more than seven hundred and fifty business associations throughout the Autonomous Community, which means that CEA represents around 200,000 large companies, SMEs and the self-employed.
González de Lara is also President of the Confederation of Businessmen of Malaga (CEM) and of the CEM, Culture, Economy and Environment Foundation. At the same time, he is Vice President of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE) and coordinates the Territorial Action of the Organization.
In 2006 he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Andalusian Council for Labor Relations (CARL) for his extensive career in the field of labor relations and for his contribution to Social Dialogue in the province of Malaga. He is a Medal of Honor recipient of the Malaga Bar Association, a distinction received in 2018, and Ambassador of the Spanish Army Brand. In 2023 he is recognized as an Honorary Alumni by the University of Malaga. Among other merits, in 2022 he was Crier of Holy Week in Malaga.
Likewise, he chairs the Reciprocal Guarantee Company GARÁNTIA, a useful tool to support the financing of SMEs and the self-employed in Andalucía.
Member of the Boards of Directors of several important Andalusian and national companies. He is Vice President of the Council of the Association for the Progress of Management (APD) of the Southern Zone. Patron of the Santa María de la Victoria Foundation. He is also President of the Board of Directors of the company Málaga-Visión, S.L.
In addition to his dedication to the business world, he also cultivates his artistic side as a marine painter and coastal landscape painter. In this field, he has participated in numerous individual and group exhibitions. His work is part of important public and private collections.
