Jesús Sainz, Ciudad Real (1943), has a degree in Law (1965) from the Complutense University and in Business Sciences (1966) from ICADE.
Commercial Technician and State Economist, during his time in the public sector (1969-83), among other positions, he was Commercial Attaché at the Spanish Embassy in Bonn and Munich, as well as Deputy Director General of Foreign Investments. He was also founder and CEO of the State Society for the Seville 1992 Universal Exposition, having obtained the concession of the Exhibition in 1982 from the Bureau International d'Expositions (Paris).
Jesús Sainz has extensive experience in the leisure and entertainment sector, having been the creator and President of the Isla Mágica Park in Seville (1996-97), representing the interests of Ogden Corp (USA), where he was Board member and Executive VP, and of the Warner Park in Madrid (2004-07), where he performed a turn around. Since 2017 he has been Vice President of Puy du Fou Spain, which is developing a theme park in Toledo about the history of Spain, consisting of the night show El Sueño de Toledo (2019) and the daytime park shows (2021).
An expert in foreign trade and in advising foreign investments in Spain, Jesús Sainz presided (2007-12) Promomadrid, an agency of the Community of Madrid to promote the internationalization of its economy. Later (2013-2018), he was Secretary General of the Círculo de Empresarios, a prestigious business think tank created in 1977.
His professional activity has been closely linked to innovation and entrepreneurship. Since its founding in 2004, he was founding partner and president (currently Chairman Emeritus) of Adara Ventures, a venture capital fund that invests in technology-based start-ups in the seed phase. He was also founding patron and President of the Créate Foundation (2011), created to promote innovation and entrepreneurship at an early age in educational centers. Jesús Sainz is also founder and Honorary President of the ICADE Business Club (2004) and member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association of Directors (AED - Madrid).
In his patronage activities, he is a Patron of the Carlos de Antwerp Foundation and the Nantik Lum Foundation, as well as founder and Vice President (1993) of the King Juan Carlos Foundation of New York University, a university that awarded him the Presidential Medal in 2007.
