Miguel Ángel Valero Duboy
Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering and Associate Professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid
Miguel A. Valero holds a Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and has been an Associate Professor since 2003 in the Department of Telematics and Electronics Engineering at UPM. He served as Director of Ceapat (IMSERSO) from 2014 to 2019 and has held various significant positions, including Director of the Department of Telematic Engineering and Architectures and Deputy Director of Research and Doctoral Studies at UPM.
Valero has worked on more than 35 national and international projects related to telemedicine and accessibility. He co-founded the Telematic Systems Group for the Information and Knowledge Society (T>SIC-UPM) and currently works with the Innovation Technology Group for People (InnoTep). He is the author of three books and has published over 150 articles in conferences and specialized journals.
He has received numerous recognitions, such as the 2010 IMSERSO Infanta Cristina Award and the 2011 Vodafone Award for Innovation in Telecommunications. In 2024, he was honored by the Spanish Association of Telecommunication Engineers for Professional Excellence and Social Commitment.
